I bloody love these Laura. You get such a solidity in your renderings while retaining the subject's elusive origamiosty, I really dig 'em. If you keep drawing them I will keep looking at them!
Samsies - they're just awesome. I don't know how you conceived of the idea - are they the result of a post - post modern interpretation of post modernism, or head injury? The good type of head injury obviously.
Great rendering skills again! must be from painting all those glossy things for a game you worked on earlier :0 What do you start with these particular pieces? you have a base shape generator, or does it just pour out of your head?
greg - between those two options, it was definitely caused by head injury.
stu - thanks, its possible haha, maybe rebelling against the shiny round shapes? i start with simple line sketches then go from there. and try to stay with the original shapes as much as possible. heres a sketch
Laura, I'm amazed by all of your latest work. I absolutely love these geometric sculptures, your understanding of light and form is fantastic. Very inspirational indeed. Also, your old guache studies are sweeeeeeeeet, awesome, awesome work :)
